Have you ever wanted a savory waffle? Have you ever tried a savory waffle and loved it? Do you like waffles? YES, YES, and YES!! Well then this restaurant is for you! It is located Elk Grove, California. A town located south of Sacramento on highway 99.
Address: The Waffle Experience, 8351 Elk Grove Blvd Suite 100, Elk Grove, CA 95758
Praise the Lard

The waffle had a different texture from their sweet waffle. This waffle was more chewy. You can taste the seasonings they put on top which gave it a different flavor from a traditional waffle flavor. I dipped the waffle into the white sauce at the bottom which made it more savory —which is different because you’re eating a waffle. The pork belly was tender, easy to cut, juicy, fatty and tasty. I loved how fluffy their eggs were, they went well with the potatoes, the sauce, and the arugula and tomato salad.
Chilaquiles

This dish was okay. You can get better chilaquiles elsewhere. However, the eggs were airy and delicious. The pork was well seasoned. And the avocado and cheese gave the dish a nice creaminess.
Chicken N’ Waffles

The chicken and waffles were delightfully salty and sweet. The waffle was the sweet waffle that was soft which paired nicely with the crispy chicken tenders. The apples and syrup gave the dish and added sweetness that happily rounds out the dish.
Chicken Fried Steak

This chicken fried steak was delicious. The breading on the steak stayed on mostly and the sauce added to the juiciness. The chives added flavor to the sauce as well. And of course the scrambled eggs and potatoes were great accompaniments for the chicken fried steak.
Sweet Waffle

The sweet waffle, which you can get a la cart, was so good. You can taste vanilla and had a lovely sweetness to round out and savory dish ordered.
If you are ever in the Elk Grove area, I highly recommended you stop by The Waffle Experience for a lovely breakfast or lunch filled with waffles.
