Six (6) pan fried potstickers on a rectangle plate with a plastic syringe filled with soy sauce.

For appetizer we ordered the pan fried potstickers. Six potstickers come in an order. I thought the syringe filled with soy sauce was a good idea. The perfect amount of soy sauce goes into each pot sticker. Thought it is good if you do a single bite. But on one of them, I took a bite and all the soy sauce came out. And only a little bit was left in the second bite.

Main Dishes

Top: Pork Katsu Don (panko breaded pork cooked in egg and onion, on top of bed of rice) Bottom: (Left) TanTan Ramen, (right) pork tonkatsu Ramen.

The Pork Katsu don is delicious. The pork was tender, juicy, and flavorful from the sweet onions and eggs. The green scallions gave the bites extra flavor.

The TanTan Ramen was spicy and delicious. The brother wasn’t too spicy but there is a kick. The noodles were chewy. They didn’t hold the broth, but it’s very good. The chashu pork was very tender. If you want more chashu pork, you can order more. The eggs was cooked runny. For some reason I didn’t particularly enjoy the egg. I think it was because the egg was cooked too runny.

Pork Katsu ramen was delicious as well. It has the same toppings as the TanTan ramen except for the spice and the corn. This ramen had a wonderful pork flavor. The pork looks the chef put a torch in on char the pork a little bit and you can taste it too, but it didn’t ruin the flavor of the ramen.

Conclusion

I recommend going to Tanuki for a nice Japanese meal. The flavors are wonderful. There’s a slight taste of the torch but it didn’t overpower the flavor of the ramen.
